Susanna Tunturi-Anttila
I'm Susanna Tunturi-Anttila (yes believe me, I know it's a mouthful, LOL!
Just call me Suski or Sus!) I'm 36 and been married to hubby Mika since
1993. I'm a SAHM for our two sugar and spice girls Saara (9) and Niina
(4). I am 100% Finnish, born and bred here in Helsinki, Finland on the
60th latitude (same as Alaska, so I'm a northern girl). I've tried living
in other places, but always return. We now live in my grandmother's old
house, in my old yard, so I have come back home, literally! Before
becoming a mother I've worked at a gift store and I had my own flower shop
for a while.
I picked up scrapbooking in '97 when we were living in Michigan for a few
years. I've always been very creative/crafty so this hobby really grabbed
me. We moved back to Finland in '99 and I spent a few years scrapbooking
'old school'. Then in the fall of '02 I stumbled across a online scrapping
community and it opened a whole new scrapping world to me! During the past
two years I've been so much happier with my scrapping (also more
obsessed), I have made lifelong friends online and even gotten some of my
work published. If I were to name a scrapping style I would say ecclectic
with lots of color. I love bright colors, KI Memories is my favorite line
of papers. Patterned paper is my favorite supply, although alphabet
stickers are not so far behind. I've always had a 'thing' for stickers.
I'm always eager to try new techniques and ideas, so I love expanding
outside regular layouts. Tags, wall plaques, altered boxes and
boardbooks... I even altered my wooden IKEA organizer not so long ago :o)
Scrapbooking is a huge stress release for me, I can forget everything else
and just dive into paper, glue, ribbons and computer fonts!
As for my interests outside scrapbooking; I enjoy sewing (mostly doll
clothes these days), cross-stitch, gardening, good books by the roaring
fire in the winter and long walks in the white summer nights.
